Will this phone work in Canada? Sony ericsson Xperia! Please Help me! ?

If I buy the sony ericsson Xperia phone in India...will it work in Canada? I have a contract with rogers with an LG SHINE rite now and i don't like it very much! I really want the Sony ericsson Xperia...will it work if I put my rogers sin card in the phone? Thanks! =)
