I recorded a HD program with a DVD recorder, will it play in HD?

OK Basically I used my DVD recorder to record a HD channel I was watching, will the normal dvd which I used playback in HD? Or will it be lower quality?

A dvd is not HD quality, so the show you recorded will not play back in HD. Only HD DVD's or Blu Ray discs recorded on an HD DVR recorder (or other HD recorder) will play back in high def. I am assuming it will play back in 480i or lower quality. If you want to record in HD, get an HD DVR from your cable company.

Lower quality. DVDs generally compress to standard DVD size, which is less than HD.

You'd need Blu Ray or HD DVD with a player and HD cable (HDMI) to view in HD.
