Clutch for a '87 Jeep Wrangler?

Does anyone know what it may cost to replace the clutch on a 1987 Jeep Wrangler? It is hard to get into 1st and 2nd gears. and it also is making a scraping sound.

if it is the clutch, It will cost 1000.00-1500.00 for someone to replace it...

If you have mechanical skills, you can do it yourself for about 200.00-300.00

It sounds more like the 1st-2nd synchronizer is bad....
