    if someone has lost his licence for drink driving whilst driving a HGV

    vehicle (not a car) will he get it back? will he get it back after his ban is done.

    he had a ban previously in his car so this his is second offence but in a wagon

    I doubt you'll get the HGV license back (for the person that asked what a HGV was it means Heavy Goods Vehicle i.e a rigid truck or articulated lorry!). He will have to resit an extended test for his car & will be very lucky if he gets considered for an extended test for the HGV.

    In my honest opinion as he's been banned twice I wouldn't give him his license back at all!

    I think he may get it after the ban is over but i also think that the D V L A will make him take his test again. But the points will stay on his licence for about 10 years

    Doubt if you will get your hgv back but you will get car licence back.Go to Ireland and take your hgv over there.Traffic commissioners can only refuse to grant your UK licence but they cant stop you driving in the UK on a southern Irish hgv once your ban has expired
