The file I have is too large to convert with iTunes but I don't wanna pay for any software to convert it.

So many you can use, two free options are:

Twins Converter (totally free)

Prism Video Converter (free as well)

I recommend Prism, it work's really well.

i always use it to make videos for my ipod
