Faster bit torrent downloads using mac?

I'm using bit torrent for mac and i am trying to download the sarah silverman show season 1 but it is taking forever. Under time remaining it says 4 days and under down rate it says 3KB/s. I remember using this on pc and it being a lot faster. Is there anyway i can increase the download rate?

If it helps, i read something about changing the maximum upload and download rate but i didn't understand it. It told me to find out what they were, so i did, using this link: http://www.speedtest.net/ on the london server. Download speed was 1664 kb/s and upload speed was 326 kb/s.

Torrents are slow. Deal with it, different torrents will download at different speeds but overall they are all very slow. What you can do is set up port forwarding to try to increase your speed.
