    CHANGE YOUR GARAGE!
When the glow plug light comes on or flashes during driving on a Ford TDCi engined vehicle, it denotes a fault in the injection system, NOT a glow plug circuit fault. The car shoukd have stored a fault code relative to the problem, any decent garage should be able to diagnose & repair.

Can't believe the two above 'answers'!
Glow plugs are used in all diesel engines to preheat the combustion chambers prior to & shortly after starting.
