Cowhide cell phone case?

I was looking at a cowhide cell phone case on ebay. Is this a rough material, will it scratch the cell phone surface?

No, cowhide is leather. However, keep in mind.....does it have the "hair on" or "hair off" on the outside? Most products (like purses, cell phone holders, belts) that have the "hair on" will eventually loose the hair over a period of time. Just thought you would like to know before buying.
