Far too many Catholics fail to attend Mass/Church due to the fact that they cannot receive communion in a state of Mortal sin.
Every Catholic is aware of the above, we all have a consciousness (inner spirit) that will tell us ~ right from wrong.
Furthermore, as a Catholic we have this great Sacrament called Reconciliation (confession) but we allow ego, pride & embarrassment to cloud our vision.
Truthfully, satan causes all three of the above faults that most catholics simply cannot step over.
Hmmm...I don't think so from my experience. But then I haven't been everywhere.
In our Church we have the Life Teen group. It is very well attended. Also, at the pro-life march every year in DC, attended mostly by Catholics, is about 80% young people.
