How Do I restore the bluetooth on my laptop?

I reformatted my hard drive a few months ago and the bluetooth never came back. I bought the computer with bluetooth. I tried installing those support packets on hp.com for it and it doesn't detect the bluetooth device in my laptop. I have an HP dv6500 bought May 2007. What should I do? HP customer support isn't much help.
I tried going to device manager and I can't find the bluetooth device integrated with the wireless device.

Go to the Device Manager and check if your bluetooth is disabled. If it is, enable it.You also might want to check if the driver is not corrupted

uninstall any drivers that you installed switch off blue tooth device in control panel/system then reinstall driver then turn reinstate device
