Can I unlock a 2g iphone and temporarily use it as an ipod touch?

I am buying a slightly used stock 2g iphone tomorrow and I intend on unlocking it and using it on a t-mobile family data/phone plan. The only problem is that my contract is still with Verizon until the end of November. My question is: is there a way that I can temporarily use the iphone as a regular touch until then? Once my contract with Verizon is up can I then fully unlock it to use with t-mobile family plan? Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can do so. To which network is the iPhone locked to? I suggest you can approach unBBlock.com and specify the country, locked network of iPhone.Based on the availability you can get the permanent unlock service along with free instructions.
