When a celebrity gets asked to perform at a fundraiser are they paid? If so, what are they paid in? Does the fundraiser pay for all there accomodations to get them to perform for free? What basically happends?

I think fundraisers are usually charity work and i don't believe they get paid for charity all of their would be earnings are more like donations.
