What does De-Locked mean? In terms of a car?

I am looking around for cars to buy and I cam across one which sounds ideal. It has been modified slightly and it is "DE-Locked". Can anyone tell me exactly what this means and whether it has any effects - safety etc...

yeah its were the outer locks are removed..
the advantages of having them is it is alot safer because theifs have no lock to tamper with..they then have to resort to the louder option of breaking the window which you will most probably hear.

also some say it makes the car look neater
i think it does too tbh

im guessing it will have a FOB were you just press a button and it unlocks the door.quite a cool gadget really lol

It means the owner has removed the external locks and filled and sprayed the holes.

The handles will still be there and the locks would open via the remote control, but obviously then you have no outside locks to use the key in.

Most people do this when pimping their car, I imagine they have also done alot of other mods. So have alook at it, but it might be a bit of a CHAV - mobile. ie, big exhaust, spoilers etc.....

Any mods will also affect the insurance premium, IMO steer clear and look for a standard car.

    have a look at what I mean, http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.torquecars.com/images/delockbefore.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.torquecars.com/styling/de-locking.php&h=184&w=300&sz=7&hl=en&start=11&usg=__ WhtpsP4aqepOCIfZElNTiElUSkE=&tbnid=x60RPRrdeXe0OM: &tbnh=71&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddelocking%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den
