where apart from an agent can i get a remote key for my vw passet?

I was told that only VW dealers could make them but who knows, they could've lied to me.

I used to have an Audi TT, and while randomly searching on ebay for performance parts, I couldn't help but notice the abundance of "programmable remote keys" for VW, Audi makes, so maybe check that out and ask around the ebay community to see if it is in fact legit. I had to get my remote key replaced due to water damage, but I had a warranty that covered it so I went to the dealership.
