I used to have a password account with the option to log in for myself only (Windows XP administrator) but not for the Guest account. The internet provider changed to a system in which the internet is available to every user of the computer and there's nothing I can do about it. No log-in: just turn on the computer and the only way to shut off the internet is to disable the network (which disables it for me, too). Or unplug the cable, but then the guests could simply plug it back in. Will I have to manually disable the network every time I log off? Or is there a hardware solution -- say, some sort of switching hub between the router that the provider installed and the PC? My internet provider doesn't like the idea of anything between its router and my PC, as they want to sell their own routers and charge for extra computers.
