I installed DIVX codec like 5 times and it does not appear as an option in the AVI File Tab, avi file compressor. i dont understand why it doesnt read it.

Try using CamStudio instead:

HyperCam is buggy and outdated.

get camstudio Its clearer, better, free, not a pain, has more options.
