How can I keep a cellphone company like Verizon or Sprint from spying on me?

I want to get a cell phone plan, but I WILL NOT under any circumstances get one if the cell phone provider will allow the Bush Administration to possibly spy on my calls.

I don't care who the hell you are, but you do not have any rights to spy on my calls. That stupid FISA bill is worthless.

Should I get my local Verizon store to sign a contract saying, "I will not spy on your phone calls."? This seems silly, but makes sense.

    What's your opinion?

Just get pre-paid phones, so that no one knows they belong to you. And change out your sim cars every so often too.

You can't get such a plan. And no cell phone company will sign anything that hasn't gone through their high-priced lawyers.

I'm as opposed to the government, or anyone for that matter, invading my privacy, but you're using THEIR cell service. You don't want them listening in, don't talk on a cell phone.
