Hyundai Elantra leaking oil?

wounld nt much to do with has to not checking it when or more most likely you have a leak and waiting to check the fluids til the light comes on tell me that your not giving your car the right care the light should never come on and being a new car im sure you busted something and could or should see the oil running out best to fil it and drive it only to the nearest dealership
 
Three days ago, the shifter of my 2008 Hyundai Elantra was inadvertently knocked into reverse as I was driving down a hill. The shifter for the automatic transmission of this car, for some reason, does not have a shift lock mechanism that you must engage before you shift gears... a definite design flaw in my opinion.

anyways, my oil light is blinking off and on and when I check my oil, the dipstick is practically dry. What may have happened to my car? Thanks.
