what is the difference between Bell Canada stocks and BCE stocks,?

If I purchased 300 Bell Canada stocks and received an 600 BCE stocks over the course of 20 years through splits etc. would I not have a total of 900 stocks? Please give as much info on the subject as possible, thank-you

Bell Canada is the operating company, BCE (Bell Canada enterprises) is the holding company which owns Bell Canada.
