The CD will only earn interest on one set principal amount because its locked for a set term and you can't add to it. On the other hand the MMA principal amount can increase all year around because you can add to it whenever you like. I have an IRA and I contribute the max annually. I save regularly but I know I can't make consistent contributions to a locked CD. Any tips on picking a good very low risk investment fund that I can always add to whenever I want?
