I want to change my carrier but i have to wait till next year. i was planning on changing to t-mobile. i know they have phones with instant messaging but what about sprint?

I have Sprint, and as far as I know they don't...on the other hand, you can use Meebo.com if you have a data plan...
Otherwise, I think you can add it to any smart phone (i.e. the new Palms).
