I'd prefer to get them from an actual Verizon "sponsored" thing, but other sites are fine, anything really, I just need a text alert tone for $1.99 or LESS.

Ventones.com gives you completely free ringers (text sounds) or you can make your own on there.
Verizon sells their ringtones for 2.99 a pop so going through get it now would be another way.
