ok...I know it's a PLAYER...but it does convert...just upgraded to the newest version and can't get the settings I used in the old version to work...and it's FREE so plz don't tell me to go BUY software I don't need...if you can't answer...well then don't

I think you answered your own question. VLC Media PLAYER, which means it only PLAYS files, not converts them.
