Around £20??
A food chopper! I love mine and use it almost everyday. It makes chopping things like garlic and onions that smell really easy and cleanup is so quick; the whole think can go in the dishwasher! I live in America and bought mine from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $15. Lots of people make them, but I think the Cuisinart is the best. Here is the link to the one I have: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14174303
It's the best tool in my kitchen!
A flat hand held cheese grater with a bakerlite handle purchased at a jumble sale for 10p! Its so sharp, efficient, easy to use and extremely easy to clean.A desert island tool if only you can make cheese out of coconut!
the best kitchen gadgit i have ever had and still got and got it for free is the wife
I am the most dreadful kitchen gadget queen!!! Steamer would have to be well up there, and also a veggie peeler thing - about £2 and worth every penny.
the "ultimate extrodinary super duper tin opener" of course, doesnt everyone?
Without any doubt at all it's a gadget that cost me £10 about forty eight years ago. It cooks cleans washes and irons brews up now and again and keeps me company in the evening. It's slowing down a bit now but so am I. Case you had nor guessed it's called a wife God Bless her.
A wife who reigns supreme in the kitchen and won't let me in. even to help with the dishes.
I was going to say potato ricer - but at £20...no.
Em, a nice sharpening steel or whet stone is always handy.
Wooden pestel & mortar - plenty around the £20 mark.
