How many of you have gotten to the point where you've decided it's not even worth it anymore to have the thousand little mini-debates? I mean, am I the only person who's about had it with even bothering with trying to answer people who are so attached to their world views that they keep regurgitating the same crazy, ridiculous, unfounded things no matter what is said or how well it's proven? And you take a lot of time to give well-considered answers and they choose a best answer from someone who said virtually nothing just because the few things the person did say happen to agree with the questioner?

You know, I'm thinking, let them say what they say, foam at the mouth, blame the media when rich conservatives own virtually every major media outlet, say ridiculous things, and give such meaningless tripe the complete lack of attention it deserves and it probably more or less goes away. Am I alone in this? Just wondered.
G, you decide how best to spend your time, but have you ever pointed out the logical fallacies and had anything other than this happen:

1) You write intelligently and on topic and get a bazillion thumbs down from people who are in effect telling you that you don't have the right to converse in opposition to their opinions.

2) Then you're told that you're a brainwashed socialist who shouldn't think that CNN is news but you could benefit from a few earsful of Fox News.

3) You cite sources and they tell you that your news media sources are not valid. The only valid sources appear to be from the right.

4) You point out facts from the highly reputable factcheck.org and they act like you never spoke.

5) Obama is a racist, which has to be the most ironic phrase since 'jumbo shrimp'.

6) Without even extending you a thanks for how much time you took, they choose a best answer that says nothing meaningful, but agrees with them.

It just isn't worth the energy. They won't change.

OMG, Kathy, you know what's the worst? When kids who weren't born until 1990 something tell you how great Reagan was when you lived through it and they were two cells in two different bodies at the time.
Mr. Clean, I am not wrong about media ownership. I am four foreign language classes short of a Bachelor's degree in journalism and I assure I've been examining this question for a long time. I think you'll find this an interesting article, and then I'd ask, if you're interested, that you look up who runs these major players and see who they've donated to, what their affiliations are, etc. Rupert Murdoch alone owns:
