why is the "fn" button on my keyboard permanently pressed down?

on my laptop keyboard, the "fn" button is acting as if it is being pressed down even though it isn't. as a result the buttons on my keyboard are acting weird (e.g. when i type the letter L i get a number 3 on the screen). in order to type normally i have to hold down the "fn" key with one hand which is getting really annoying. anyone know what could be causing this problem??

just sounds like its stuck ..maybe try to work a dab of wd40 into the mechanism ..

it comes with different color like blue for example to keep pressing it and press other similar collor buttons.
