So I have had my desktop PC for a LONG time now....few years and it has not been reformatted yet. And it was kind of getting clunky and slow so I thought why not reformat it. So just prior to reformatting it, though, it was pretty functional and the only issues I had were just the computer itself slowing down a bit at times and not being able to handle multiple programs open.

So anyway, I reformatted XP with NO problems...very smooth reformat, however when I now try to connect to the internet (which like I said was working before the reformat) it does not connect. It is almost as if the ethernet cable isn't being detected. I am on a wireless network however I did try to directly connect the modem to my PC to see if that made a difference and no matter what I do and no matter what I configure in the network/network connection settings, nothing works. Help!!!
