Is AVG better than Norton Internet Security?

Which is better in terms of protection from malware and viruses?

    Thank you.

Yes. Norton is rubbish. It is the worst anti-virus product currently on the market. At one time it used to be good - before Symantec took over. Norton acts more like a virus and entrenches itself deep into your system. The software will do more harm to your PC than good and when you to to remove it, it leaves behind over 375 traces in your registry files/folders and subsystem. You have to download their removal tool just to get it off of your system. You are much better off with a free anti-virus product.

NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus applications and much better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (recent tests at av-comparatives.org). If you want a free anti-virus, AVG, Avast! or AntiVir all are better than Norton (install only 1).

McAfee is the best one for viruses and if you install Norton, you will never and I mean never get it off you computer. I will never use that product again.
AVG is better than nothing, if you have to use something FREE.
I would recommend buying something for good protection thought.
You can use Spybot for free for malware.

I had Defender by Kapersky and it was bad, I had stuff get through.

actually not having any protection is probably better than Norton, that's how much Norton sucks
