As stated , fishing industry is very big up there.. If you dont want to do any of the things you mentioned, try hiking, Alaska has some of the most gorgeous scenery.... I know when my parents were alive they traveled the world and had been to many a country but they had said , going to Alaska was the best trip they had ever had... *S*

Lots of free time, what with no Sex Ed classes, no science class, no school in winter (and winter lasts from July through May). Ye-hah !! Yippee !! North to Alaska, north to the Russian Zone. Hey: that would make a great theme song for a movie ... resurrect John Wayne, have everyone wear red-and-black flannel shirts and fur boots, have fistfights in the midst of muddy streets ... shee-yit, I can hardly wait. Yeah, I guess those long cold nights can make for some interesting nighttime indoor activity ... mostly, it appears, of a non-intellectual nature. More "creationist," it seems. Ex-tenze and Viagra sales are off the charts; condom sales are down.
