Will a T-Mobile Sidekick 3 work in Australia if purchased in the US?

In Australia, i know that the Hiptop Slide is available, but only on a very expensive plan with telstra.
I'm already on a telstra network, but i was wandering if someone was to buy me a T-Mobile in the US, would it work in Australia?
