I own a Toyota Corolla, and I'm wondering how much the PSI is, and how people calculate it. The car tire says the tire pressure is 35lb. What exactly is the difference between lb's and the PSI? best answer gets 10 points, please help guys!

35 psi is a little on the high end for tire pressure. Would recommend going with 32 psi. Remember that the manufacturer sometimes recommends things to reduce maintenance costs (longer times between oil changes for example) or improve mileage (higher tire pressure or using 5W20 motor oil), that ultimately do not benefit the long term life of the car (or in this case the tire)

PSI vs Pounds, think of it this way - if I took a 35 pound weight and placed it on your stomach it wouldn't hurt that much, but if I put a 35 pound weight inside a spike heeled shoe and placed it on you it would hurt a lot. PSI is a measure of force per area, whereas pounds is a measure of weight.
