Thinking of Buying a Mazda MX-5

I'm currently looking for a second car and thinking of buying a Mazda MX-5. I'm 20 at the moment but will be 21 by time get round to buying one. I'm only looking to spend around £1500 so looking at around 1992 model for this amount. Problem is that insurance is quite high (£1000ish - that's with stating I'm only doing 5000miles a year) and I was wondering if anyone knows any cheap insurance companies or if there is a way I can combine my current car insurance (2002 Ford Focus) together with this to make it cheaper?
Any idea's will help.

One, probably useless, bit of info for you though - be careful that you get an actual mazda mx5 as the eunos roadster, although technically the same car, costs - for some strange reason - a bit more than the genuine mx5

edit-----just re-read that and thought it could be a little confusing - I mean't that the Insurance can cost more - not the actual car!
