limewire wont connect to the internet. file connect doesnt work. what do i do ?

when i open limewire & search for a song, a mesage pops up saying "llimewire is not connected to the internet. to connect go to file then click connect. results will not come up until you connect" but when i go to file, the connect is a gray color. like i can't click it :[ so idk what to do :/
