News of a brawl that broke out over a Tory Burch sample sale (flatsticuffs? Ugh) sort of reminded me of that Kurt Andersen column in New York a few months back about the mad media rush to convict the Duke lacrosse team, especially this quote from an eyewitness re the kiddies in the audience: "We were shocked since the little girls were well-behaved and not acting as immature as some of the other women." In other words, this is one of those stories that's "too good to check", though we guess there will be copycat brawls soon enough: when Jordans were as coveted as those stupid fucking shoes, people brought guns.
