...your phone? I don't have any sim cards, but I have 2 iPhones. Not sure about the versions on either, but one is stuck in recovery mode. Can I unlock both of them?

Its not illegal, but Apple is going to do everything it can to make your phone useless if you do. They make most of their money by forcing customers to use a carrier service that is way over priced.
