Gianfranco Ferre brought a sense of 'architecture' to fashion design way before Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga or any of the Japanese designers seized control of the word. From ultra-modern sleek silhouettes to outrageous prints and billowing confections, Ferre's fashions were serious in execution and playful in design.
