I had a holiday romance once. I met a guy in Turkey, nothing happened, we just hung out. He was Lebanese and gorgeous. When I got home we started e-mailing and chatting on-line. After doing this every day for about 6 months, I went to Beirut to meet him. He was amazing and treated me like a princess. I went over there quite a few times, we went to Egypt together and everything was fabulous. Then we got engaged, on the condition that I would marry him when he was able to come over to England without it being anything to do with me (I didn't want everyone thinking he was just in it for a passport, which he wasn't, we were very much in love). Unfortunately he was unable to do it, and for family reasons I couldn't move over there, so that was the end of my fairy-tale romance. It was both the most amazing and the most painful thing that has happened to me.
