unlock first gen iphone with 2.0 firmware canada?

I have an iphone which was unlocked and jailbroken in canada. I wanted the new update 2.0 so i restored it through itunes and i guess it installed the new 2.0 firmware. Its not bricked but when i turn it on it shows a connect to itunes picture and asks for a vaild sim. When i put my fido sim in, itunes says its not valid. But iphone is avalible through fido (shouldn't it work?). Is there anyway to unlock it to use my sim and maybe the new firmware. Before the restore i created a backup of the phone and it was 1.1.1 firmware.
All i want is for it to work again.
