I have a Sony Bravia LCD 52" TV. (KDL-52X3100 i think). I live in Australia.

It obviously has a internal HD tuner (can find HD channels), but my DVD/HDD recorder does not (pansonic DMR-EH50). So I was wondering, if there is a way to like, connect the TV into the DVD recorder so it can also see HD channels? As at the moment, my DVD recorder can only view crappy channels, meaning movies I record are not very good to watch.
Yes, I have connected the AV output of the TV to the DVD recorder, but this only works while the TV is on, rendering it useless basically, because we time record mostly (schedule times for it to record, meaning the TV will be off).

Can we use the TV as a HD tuner for the DVD recorder, like, piggy back the antenna cable to the TV then the DVD recorder sortta thing?

The TV does have a cable that just connects from one plug to another on the back, a little cable. Maybe that is it?

The intructions just say to use the AV output, but as I said, useless to us.

So yer..
