Can I use an indoor bike trainer with a beach cruiser style bike?

I have a beach cruiser on my lanai and would like to use it more often than I have been. Does anyone know if an indoor bike trainer would work on this type of bike, or is there a specific trainer made for these? Not really concerned with adding tension to it yet, just wanna get back in the swing of things, just enough to brake a sweat and expand my momentum.

Serious answers would be greatly appreciated please.
