"How do you rebuild a 1986 Honda TRX 250 Carburetor"?

I appreciate your answers,
Could anyone give me a link of how to rebuild a carburetor. I do not know how to get started. I did buy a rebuild kit but it would be really helpful to have step by step instructions.

Also a link to purchase a repair manual would be great thanks alot !!

Change all o-rings & the float needle # 18
Remove the pilot jet # 40 - hold it up to the light - you should be able to see through it - soak it in carb cleaner until you can.
Before changing the o-ring on the mixture screw # 6, turn it in (clock wise) and count how many turns it is (1/4 1/2 3/4 1 1&1/8) until it lightly seats (so you know where to set it when you re-install it).

Same as any other carb, except that honda did put a flaw (rare for honda) in those carbs. Most of'em have a one piece float,plastic, that won't allow for a level adjustment. If you can't find one used, your honda dealer will sell you a better float for your carb. Good Luck, keep it running !

Your best bet would be to get a service manual for this bike. It will give you the complete proceedure for servicing this carburetor.

I got a service manual for my bike dfrom EBay. it was the best $25 I spent on my ride.

It will pay for itself the first time you use it.
