what hair style suits short frizzy hair?

I have hair a little longer than shoulder-level. Its very frizzy and curls up at the ends. It becomes unmanageable after a while. I cant cut its short as it all stands up in a bush and growing it long needs lot of time to manage it. So i keep my hair always in a pony. Have got bored of it.
Plz suggest something nice.
Tried coloring my hair which made it more frizzy. Curls too dont go well with my face. Have heard strightening causes hair loss and stuff.......... so wht (the hell) can i dooooooooooo?
