Could not paying my ballys total fitness membership ruin my credit score???

i absolutely hate ballys, at least the locations near me. They close early on weekends at 5:00 pm, i dislike the environment, im just through with ballys PERIOD. i thought i could simply cancel my contract and didn't think too much of it because its "JUST A DAMN GYM MEMBERSHIP", but evidently you have to be dead or completely disabled in order to cancel your contract. and im not willing to go to that extent. So i have just decided to stop paying, Can this have a nasty effect on my credit sore?? <<<===Desperate to know!!!

    - thanks

I would not say "ruin" your credit...but it can damage your credit if the collection agency puts it on your credit files as bad debt.

not ruin necessarily, but it would put a crimp in it for a while definitely! Most places want their money--maybe you could work out a payment plan with them--lots of places have to do this with people--it is worth a try anyway!

If it's reported to a credit reporting agency, it will damage your credit (and it will stay on your credit report for 7 years).
