I am thinking of buying a Toyota Prius. How do they manage in snow?

I drive alot of highway however I also have a job where I will be doing some city driving. Right now I drive a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe which is absolutely great in the winter when I am up in the mountains on weekends, however the mileage isn't so great. I love all the room and pickup of my Santa Fe. How is the comfort and safety of the Prius?

All of the models above the base model come with traction control and they handle just fine.

It isn't anything like a Subaru, but as good as any other front wheel drive car with traction control.

Safety on the Prius is excellent.

The comfort of the Prius depends on the individual. One of the minor complaints I have is that the driver seat doesn't fit my back right. However, the sears are very soft (almost plush).
It has a lot of back seat room. Surprisingly big - good for taller passengers.
