Why do people watch MMA instead of boxing?

Why exactly do people watch MMA?; for the life of me I cannot figure it out. First of all what is MMA? What am I watching? From the little bit that I have seen it looks like a street fight that you might se at your local bar. Have we become so brain dead and violent as a society that we all we want to see are a bunch of bloody brawls between guys with anger issues? Will we ever be able to rid ourselves of this mess called MMA and return to the glory days of boxing?

People like you should not even be asking this question anymore. You sound horribly ignorant and if your a fan of boxing, you should know better by now what MMA is - especially since all your criticisms of MMA is what people who don't know any better say about boxing. Boxing is great by the way, just go learn something about MMA:

I don't really watch too much now because of these reasons.

    1) The judging is extremely questionable. Lennox Lewis was destroying Holyfield and they ended up in a no decision. WHAT? Then I had enough when this happened

    2) Too many belts. If you got Ruslan Chagaev, Samuel Peter, and Wladamir Klitschko in the same room and asked who the heavyweight world champion is, all three of them would say they were, and they all would be right. No one has all 3 belts in their weight class.

    3) Where are the great fights? We get PPVs for fighter who no one even knows!

    4) Too many super fights never happen because boxers dodge fighters or say that the money isn't right. What about being the best?

So in MMA, it is to me more interesting because millions of dollars necessarily hasn't spoiled the boxers too much. We still see huge fights. Once again, I am not a huge MMA fan but I understand it why MMA is catching on while boxing declines.
