Does having one mirror in the cage with two parakeets make them fight more?

Ever since my brother bought our parakeets (one's a male, and the other's a female) a mirror for their cage, all they've been doing is fighting over which one of them gets to sit directly in front of it and stare at their reflection. I know that if you have one parakeet you're supposed to buy them a mirror so they don't feel as lonely, but when there's two is it possible that the mirror only gives them one more thing to fight for dominance over?

They're not pecking eachother or having epic battles... it's more of high pitched angry screaming all day until it gets too dark in the room at night for them to see themselves in the mirror. I'm considering removing the mirror... or buying two! lol

    What do you think?

Put two mirrors in one on the opposite side of the cage so they will each have their own mirror and play with it as they like.
