SO, now that everyone realizes that the UFC is like a farm system for boxing,

what happens next? That Russian beat the piss outta Sylvia. Will all you "mixed martial artists" finally admit that you do what you do because your not good enough to be a boxer. Sylvia had close to 50lbs on Emelianenko but you could tell that he was just much stronger and better than the UFC chump. Theres a reason boxing has the history and legacy it does. Ali will be known forever. 10 years from now, Sylvia or Couture or whoever is the biggest name in UFC will be selling hot dogs on the corner and you wont even recognize him. TAKE MY ADVICE: If your going to get paid to take punches, go for the big bucks & repectable career and be a boxer.

hey, thanks, "JESS E...". couldnt even spell the 1 word you typed correctly. way to contribute....
hey GOOSE - good answer. I agree with just about all you said. I wouldnt say I am "pro boxing". As far as entertainment goes, I would say UFC is more entertaining than boxing. I really prefer skill sports, but thats me. To each his own. I just was very interested to see what happened in Affliction and it was just so lop-sided..... I have a few friends that are all about the UFC and they think that all those guys are just badass killing machines. Granted, I would get stomped by the worst guy in the UFC, but thats not the point... Professional boxing sh!ts all over UFC/MMA and now it has been proven.

OVER RATED: you are obviously still in middle school so stop wasting the grown up's time and go do your homework.

I am an x fighterand I hate MMA because they are making these nobodys out to be real champions and I know that 90 % of these guy would come to my gym for one day and would never come back I know this for a fact becaue I own agym and these guys came and went all the time you don,t get reach arounds in boxing you get hit. No short shorts No nut rolling around on the canvas just a good old fashion left to the jaw. So now I want to hear what the MMA people have to say about this Dana White is too smart to let his top fighters fight a real fighter. I can see a MMA fighter stepping into the ring with Roy Jones Jr. lol that would be funny. Let me try to explane something to MMA people about the glove size MMA fighters use 4oz. and the gloves boxers use 8oz and 10 0z. a pro boxer would let you use your bare nuckles it would not help you out the gloves are not made to protect your head they are made to protect your hands so class what does thart tell you it tells you that MMA fighters don,t hit because that is what they do boxers punch hard enough to hurt thear hands have any of you ever seen a pro boxers hand after they have been taped it,s like a baseball and just as hard try getting hit buy one of these in the mouth for twilve rounds that will give you a buzz

I am not against boxing, because I do understand the talent and conditioning required. I do think that the two sports aren't really comparible though.

I dont understand how Fedor beating Sylvia proves that MMA is for chumps. I agree that many of the UFC fighters are no talent hacks, but that doesnt mean that the entire MMA genre is crap. For example, I think Fedor could defeat pretty much anyone in hand to hand combat, but I dont think his "boxing" technique is really impressive. That guy just goes nuts throwing blows and has great ground technique, whether on bottom or on top.

The reason I like MMA compared to boxing is that MMA is comparible to an all out fight, as opposed to having many rules and regulations. If I lost a boxing match, I still might think I could beat the guy in an MMA fight. But if you lose an MMA fight, there is no excuse, you got beat up, plain and simple.

And I think that Fedor has a respectable career, along with many other MMA fighters.

    Just my opinion though.

watching UFC and boxing alike after a hard week's work is alright.
why dissect it? enjoy it as it is, as it comes.
    better than watching porn.

    chill.
