is it at all possibe to put a lift on an old 60's VW beetle? With that what would I have to do to make it possible? would it need a new engine?

Do you mean is it possible to raise the suspension on the VW or is it possible to put it on a vehicle lift to work on it. Either are yes, though if you are doing a lift kit, you will have to purchase a suspension lift for it. And why would it need a new engine? It needs new springs and any other suspension parts that interact with the springs. If you take it to a custom shop they should be able to help you. Otherwise, browse online for VW suspension lift your-year beetle or visit your local custom spring shop.
