This has happened before and they just shut off after a while. Or when driving pumping brakes made the actual lights go off. Now, they are stuck on. You shut off car and remove key and the brake lights are still on. Thanks again

Sounds like your brake light switch has gone bad. It's nice to know cheap old cars like my '97 Mercury Tracer are not the only ones that have these problem. Like the other guy said, there is a brake light switch located under the dashboard at the brake pedal. It was a $25 part in my case. Guessing it'll be a bit more for your Audi.
