Why is my email taking so long to get to my iPhone after the update?

My yahoo mail used to come through the second I got it but after the update I'm lucky if I get it at all. My aol mail actually comes in faster. I've opened my yahoo mail and let it sit by my computer (where there's the best wifi) to update itself and it still doesn't even detect it. I tried going back to my settings to make sure my email check timer was set on hourly but I can't find it, all I see is push and stuff and I'm totally lost. Can anyone help?
